I have a free resource for you if you have ever wondered how to talk to someone who doesn’t respond much or who is limited in their ability to respond (minimally verbal).
This may be because they have a motor impairment–they are not able to move their mouth very well. Or it may be because they have processing issues which cause them to process and respond to verbal information more slowly.

There is some debate about what is defined as minimally verbal or nonverbal. (This article and this article cover that.) However, it is sufficient to say that if you have difficulty talking with someone and cannot understand more than 50% of their speech, this infographic could help you start thinking of conversing with yes/no questions.
